Better Scanner is an iOS receipt and document scanning app that uses VisionKit for document capture and the Vision framework for on-device OCR text recognition. It automatically extracts totals, dates, and line items from scanned receipts using a regex-based parsing pipeline, then compresses images to HEIC format for efficient SwiftData storage. The app includes a spending dashboard with Swift Charts visualization, category management with 12 default categories, and CSV plus PDF export for expense reporting. Built with stuarttech-shared for design tokens, finance formatting, and UI components.
