About this app
Better Claude Meter is a macOS menu bar app for monitoring Claude API usage in real-time. Built with SwiftUI and Swift 6 actor-based services, it reads Claude Code OAuth credentials from the system Keychain in read-only mode and polls the Anthropic API with adaptive refresh intervals and exponential backoff retry logic. Features include usage predictions, threshold alerts via macOS notifications, system resource monitoring (CPU, memory, disk), offline detection with NWPathMonitor, and a monochromatic design that only uses red at critical 90%+ usage levels. The app runs with hardened runtime and minimal entitlements for security.
