About this app
Better B-Hyve Button is an iOS companion app for Orbit B-Hyve smart irrigation systems, built as a faster, more focused alternative to the stock app. It controls individual zones in real time over a WebSocket connection to the B-Hyve cloud API, and layers in a sunrise/sunset-aware schedule engine with local weather data to fine-tune watering times. A Dog Mode toggle pauses watering when pets are in the yard, and a Usage tab tracks water consumption over time using Charts.framework. Siri Shortcuts via App Intents let you start or stop zones by voice. Built with Swift 6.2, SwiftUI, and SwiftData under strict concurrency, and shares networking and UI components with the rest of the Better app suite via stuarttech-shared.
