1. What stays on your Mac

Better WorldClock is a local-first menu bar utility. The following data is stored locally on your Mac and is not uploaded by the app:

• Your selected time zones and their order
• Custom clock labels and per-zone hour-format choices
• Whether local time appears in the grid
• Your launch-at-login preference

2. Permissions

Better WorldClock does not request Location, Contacts, Calendar, Microphone, Camera, Photos, or Files access. Your local time zone comes from macOS system time settings. Additional clocks are chosen manually by you.

3. Anonymous launch event

When the app launches it sends a single anonymous launch event to https://stuarttech.com/api/usage/launch over HTTPS. The event contains:

• A persistent random anonymous identifier stored in Keychain
• The app bundle id, marketing version, and build number
• The macOS version, Mac model identifier, locale, and screen size

We use this to count active installs, prioritize OS/device testing, and measure update adoption. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking and is not linked to your Apple ID.

4. Licensing, purchases, and updates

Release builds contact Stuart Technologies licensing services when you start a trial, activate a license key, check license status, look up a license, or open a purchase flow. Purchase checkout is handled by Stripe through the Stuart Technologies website.

Better WorldClock uses Sparkle for app updates. When you choose Check for Updates, Sparkle checks the Stuart Technologies update feed and downloads update packages when you choose to install them.

5. What we do not do

• No ads or advertising identifiers
• No sale of personal data
• No location tracking
• No upload of your clock list, labels, or settings

6. Data retention

Anonymous launch events are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. License, trial, purchase, and support records are retained as needed to provide the product, prevent abuse, handle refunds, and meet legal/accounting requirements.

7. Your choices

• Remove time zones from Settings at any time.
• Turn off Launch at login in Settings or macOS Login Items.
• Delete the app to remove its local settings from your Mac.
• Contact support to ask about license, purchase, or support records.

8. Changes to this policy

If we materially change what the app collects, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
