Better PDF Signer
In one sentence
PDFs you sign and signatures you create never leave your device. The app sends one anonymous launch event per session so we can count installs — full breakdown below.
1. What stays on your device
Better PDF Signer is a local-first signing utility. The following data is created on your device, stored on your device, and never sent anywhere by the app:
- The PDFs you open, edit, and save (working copies in the app's private Documents folder)
- Signatures you draw, scan, or import — saved in the app's signature library
- Date and time stamps you place
2. Device permissions

The app does not access contacts, calendar, microphone, location, motion, or health data.
3. What we collect (and exactly what's in it)
When the app launches it sends a single anonymous "launch" event to https://stuarttech.com/api/usage/launch over HTTPS. The event contains:
- A persistent random anonymous identifier (UUID) stored in the iOS Keychain — not linked to your Apple ID, email, or any account
- The app's bundle id, marketing version, and build number
- The iOS version string (e.g.
26.0) - The device model identifier (e.g.
iPhone17,1) - Your locale (e.g.
en_US) - Screen dimensions in pixels
We use this only to count active installs, prioritize which devices and OS versions to test on, and measure update adoption. It is never used for advertising or cross-app tracking and is not linked to any personal identifier. Reinstalling the app generates a new anonymous identifier — we cannot connect "the old you" with "the new you".
4. What we do not do
- No advertising identifier (IDFA) requested or used
- No third-party analytics SDKs (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics)
- No third-party crash-reporting SDKs that ship telemetry
- No social-login or social-tracking SDKs
- No background uploads of your PDFs or signatures
5. Children
Better PDF Signer is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
6. Data retention
Anonymous launch events are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Because the data is anonymous, we cannot honor an individual deletion request — there is nothing to look up.
7. Your choices
- Deny camera access in iOS Settings — Draw and Choose from Photos still work.
- Deny photo-picker access — Draw and Scan with Camera still work.
- Turn off mobile/Wi-Fi data for Better PDF Signer in Settings → Better PDF Signer to disable launch telemetry.
- Delete the app to remove all on-device signatures and PDF working copies.
8. Changes to this policy
If we materially change what the app collects, we will update this page and increment the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantive changes will also be highlighted in the App Store release notes for the update that introduces them.
